Effrossyni's research interests focus on the genetic epidemiology of immunity pathways that mediate infection susceptibility, the epidemiology of hospital infections and travel medicine epidemiology. She is also the Director of the Cambridge Geosentinel and the Cambridge EurotravNet sites.
